Reliant again on child labour, another 20 litres of cider bottled.... Just think when heather is a couple of years older I'll be able to make twice as much.

Schnapps...

The schnapps has been added ready for bottling tomorrow. The SG ain't right but I want to try it soon. Australia day opening?

First Keg

So it might not be very PC but I roped in some help to bottle the first keg of caffreys... She was brilliant! The beer though I'm not so sure. The gravity was only about 118 (needs to be 110 really) but its not moved in a week. I think the weather done it in with the yeast sitting on top out of the mix, and the mix itself seemed to have a fair amount of "stuff" at the bottom. Bottled 24 bottles though! I mean how bad can it be...

Mmmmmm....

The Caffreys was hardly bubbling at all this morning... I fear it may have overloaded and burnt out in the heat! Cider is coming along nicely though.

Thanks all for a great afternoon kicking off our beer nonsense. Many great afternoons and nights to come me thinks. I'll post the bubbles in the next couple of days and may need help with the bottling before we reconvene to sample our wares....
